Everything Bagel BLT Burger for #BurgerMonth

I am obsessed with everything bagels, and with BLTs. They are both go-to's for me! Half an everything bagel with an egg for breakfast is something I've probably had more than anything else combined over the past year or two. And BLTs have always been a comfort, easy go-to for a quick lunch, or dinner, or 10pm craving...! So as I was pondering what to serve up today, it occurred to me to combine my two favorites and see what happened.

This is a match made in heaven! I loved the flavor combinations, and the creaminess the cream cheese added to the whole burger. It was a delicious dish, and one I will definitely make again! If you like everything bagels and BLTs - you owe it to yourself to give this one a try!


Everything Bagel BLT Burger

Ingredients
1 Everything Bagel
1 TBS cream cheese
2-3 thin slices of bacon
1 large tomato slice
2 romaine lettuce leaves
1/3 lb ground beef
salt and pepper

Directions
  1. Form the ground beef into a patty and season on both sides with salt and pepper, to taste. Set aside.
  2. In a skillet, cook the bacon to crispy, set the cooked bacon aside on paper towels to drain.
  3. Drain off all but about 1/2 TBS of the bacon grease from the skillet.
  4. Cook the burger patty in the bacon grease, about 2-3 minutes per side, until cooked to your desired done-ness.
  5. Meanwhile, toast the Everything Bagel.
  6. When Bagel is toasted, smear the top half with the cream cheese.
  7. Assemble the sandwich by placing lettuce on the bottom half of the bagel, setting the cooked burger patty atop the lettuce, bacon next, followed by the sliced tomato and the top half of the bagel (with cream cheese). Squish so it'll fit in your mouth and enjoy!
