BBQ Country Style Ribs

I really like using country style ribs. I've been using them for years; ribs without the hassle of bone! :) This was a very good recipe, very basic, and you can tweak the seasonings however you like them. Just be sure to use a good bottle of BBQ sauce that you like a lot. I usually use nothing but Sweet Baby Rays but had an open bottle of Kraft in my fridge, so I went ahead and used it up. I also didn't have a fresh lemon, so just sprinkled on some lemon juice in place of the lemon slices. I also didn't have the full amount of time for cooking, so I cut the cooking time down to about 1 1/2 hours and increased the temperature a little. They weren't as fall apart tender as they would have been if I'd done it "right" but they were still really delicious and my son loved this dinner!

Started with about 2 lbs of country style ribs, placed in a baking pan.

Sprinkled on some lemon juice.
Added a helping of minced garlic and rubbed it in.
After baking for the first hour (uncovered) I drained off all the liquid that had accumulated.
Poured on the bottled BBQ sauce.
Spread that around and popped it back in the oven!
About 30 minutes later I pulled these out!
Sticky and delicious!
Perfect with some corn on the cob and homemade mac n cheese! Yumm!

  2. I've never heard of "country style" ribs. Is that what it says on the package at the store? Is it pork? Looks kinda like chicken from the photos. Looks very yummy though.

  3. Jennifer, yes it's pork and that's what the cut of meat will say on the package! :) I think they do come in bone-in and boneless but I've always bought the boneless.
