Instant Pot Ground Beef and Pasta for #MulticookerMonday

If you are a blogger looking to join our Multicooker Monday group, request to join our Facebook page, or reach out to Sue of Palatable Pastime! We look forward to cooking with you. Multicooker Monday is a friendly food blogging group where we get together on the third Monday of the month  to post recipes for the multicooker: instant pot or pressure cooker, slow cooker, air fryer, sous vide or other cooking device with no theme; anything goes!

I am sharing such a tasty, cozy 1-pot meal today; we loved the way this came out. Just a few simple ingredients, and it comes together in no time for a hearty pasta and meat sauce dish. I ended up throwing some fresh sauteed green beans mixed in for a complete all-in-one meal.

A couple weeks ago I planted our first little basil plants out in our tiny new garden and that's what we used for this dish and I am so HAPPY to have gorgeous, fragrant basil in my backyard every day now. The plants are pretty tiny still, but I can't wait until they fill out so I can use more than a couple leaves at a time!

Take a look at all these beautiful dishes we're sharing with you today!

  • Instant Pot Ground Beef and Pasta adapted from Damn Delicious

    Ingredients
    1 lb lean ground beef
    1 small onion, diced
    1 TBS minced garlic (jarred)
    1 (24-oz) jar marinara sauce
    1 14-oz can beef stock
8-oz pasta (I used bow tie)
1/2 tsp salt, more to taste
1/4 tsp black pepper, more to taste
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
    1/3 cup grated Parmesan

    Directions
    1. Turn your Instant Pot to saute. Add in the ground beef, diced onion, salt and pepper. Stir to break up the ground beef and prevent it from sticking to the bottom. Cook about 5-8 minutes until beef is fully browned.
    2. Add in the minced garlic and saute for another minute until fragrant.
    3. Pour in the marinara sauce, beef stock, and stir in the uncooked pasta. Ensure pasta is submerged in the sauce / liquid and scrape along the bottom a couple times to ensure any browned bits are no longer stuck.
    4. Put the lid on, seal, and set the Pressure Cook for 5 minutes. Allow the Instant Pot to natural release at least 10 minutes afterwards to allow pasta to cook all the way through.
    5. Remove lid, and check the pasta. If it is still not fully cooked through, just replace the lid and check again in another couple minutes.
    6. When pasta is cooked, stir in the parmesan and fresh chopped basil. Taste, and add additional salt / pepper if needed!
    7. Serve immediately.
