Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Rolls

The new sock monkey slipper socks were
the star of this picture, but the cinnamon
roll made a guest appearance!
We decided to do homemade cinnamon rolls for our Christmas morning goodies and I volunteered to make them! I thought I'd made this recipe before, but this was actually the first time for me. They turned out really good and everyone enjoyed them, but they didn't rise correctly for me. I have really bad luck with getting dough to rise after I refrigerate it and I made the dough and put it in the fridge overnight and they wouldn't get big and fluffy when we set them out the next morning, even after almost 2 hours on top of the stove covered in towels. That bummed me out, but it didn't really matter since they still tasted awesome!!

Here is a link to the recipe on The Pioneer Woman's website. I didn't use her frosting recipe, just made an easy glaze with powdered sugar, a little bit of milk, and a splash of vanilla. We poured that over hot rolls and it soaked in all that sticky, sugary goodness! Yumm!! I also halved the recipe and still had 3 round cake pans of rolls which was perfect for our group.

Happy teenage kiddo with his sugary breakfast fix!

  1. Mmmm...cinnamon rolls. I'll have to try this recipe out. Love the picture of your son enjoying them, totally convinced me. :-) And thanks for the tip...I'll probably halve it, too. Sounds like a healthy amount.
