7 weeks!

The chadifer's are growing, growing, growing! This week:

How Jenn and Chad's babies are growing:

The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.

If you could see inside your womb, you'd spot eyelid folds partially covering her peepers, which already have some color, as well as the tip of her nose and tiny veins beneath parchment-thin skin. Both hemispheres of your baby's brain are growing, and her liver is churning out red blood cells until her bone marrow forms and takes over this role. She also has an appendix and a pancreas, which will eventually produce the hormone insulin to aid in digestion. A loop in your baby's growing intestines is bulging into her umbilical cord, which now has distinct blood vessels to carry oxygen and nutrients to and from her tiny body.

The actual belly - still pretty much bloat, but actually does look a little rounder to me than the first pic I took 2 weeks ago... will be fun to watch it GROW along with the babies! :)

I am still sick, I took today off again to rest and slept most of the morning through mid-afternoon. I do feel a little better than I did this morning, but still have the cough and am so very, very tired. My body just doesn't seem to be coping all that well with being sick and pregnant at the same time. I am taking it as easy as I can and pushing fluids and taking my vitamins so not really sure what else I can do... guess it's just going to take time to work its way out of my system...

Our next ultrasound is scheduled for the 18th, babies will be about 8 1/2 weeks along by then and I'm so excited for our next peek in at them! I can't wait to see how much they've grown - it never ceases to absolutely amaze me at the growth and changes that take place in these first couple months! One more month and we'll be on our way out of the first trimester! That is awesome!! It's always such a great milestone moment to get into the 2nd trimester. I just can't wait to see what all will come and the changes that will take place - I am looking forward to being amazed yet again by the human body - mine and those little ones growing inside! I am so blessed and feel excited for this pregnancy! :)
