6w1d - a day of rest!

We are just over 6 weeks now! It was fun to get the baby center e-mail yesterday and see what Jenn and Chad's baby(ies) are up to this week!

How Jenn and Chad's baby(ies) is growing:
This week's major developments: The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute — almost twice as fast as yours — and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil.
I am starting to feel pregnant again. After a couple weeks straight of symptoms, I had most of the last week off. I thought maybe it was because I've been able to sleep in since I've been on vacation with my family visiting but maybe it was just the timing... because the last couple days I'm feeling it again. Constant off and on queasiness and the mouth watering has started back today. My appetite is up and down and all over. Eating makes me feel worse, saltines didn't make me feel worse but not better either yesterday. I am wiped out, but we've had a fun and crazy schedule while my family was visiting, so we'll see how I feel now that I should be back to my regular routine by the end of this week!

I am going to go take a nap for as long as my body wants to sleep and then see how I feel. The queasiness and upset stomach is pretty bad this morning and I can't stand the thought of eating at all. I had some cocoa earlier on the drive to the airport and sipped the rest of it on the way home, and it's staying down ok but didn't feel that great on my stomach. It's just churning away! Hopefully a nap will help and maybe I'll be able to eat when I get up... I've been craving a lot of eggs and peanut butter toast/sandwiches the past week or so - eggs sound good in my head but the idea of actually eating them right now makes my stomach disagree very strongly!!

So, my niece, brother, and sister are probably boarded on the plane right now getting ready for the long trip back to Seattle. I miss them already, the house is too quiet! I feel SO lucky and blessed that I got to have them here for a whole week and am very, very grateful for our time together... I know I need to find a way to visit them more often, my family means so much to me and we don't see each other nearly enough. It's hard to even wrap my head around how different things might be at the end of this year, so for now I'm just going to try to keep it in my mind as a priority and see how things work out! :)

I will leave you with a couple pictures from our last evening together yesterday, we stopped at the local park where the police department were putting on a "meet and greet" type event with inflatables for the kids, a big cook-out, drinks, snow-cones, etc. Part of the event was a Wii console set up for games - and one of them was a dancing game! Me and my sister danced to "Barbie Girl" and it was a BLAST!! It was SO much fun!! We looked like total dorks but I had such a great time! :D

(You see my child behind me looking on in something like disbelief and maybe amusement?! :D )
