Copycat Chick Fil A Chicken Sandwiches

I love the chicken salad sandwiches from Chick Fil A - that nutty toasted bread, crispy lettuce, and tender chicken salad full of deliciously blended ingredients like hard boiled egg and relish. I think I single-handedly ate about 80% of this recipe - I enjoyed it for lunch several days in a row. I liked to add thick sliced pickles and fresh tomato to my sandwiches too!

If you enjoy the chicken sandwiches at Chick Fil A (or you've never had the chance to try them out) - I can't recommend this recipe enough, it's a delicious recipe, and easy to tweak the seasonings and add-ins to your personal preference. If you like raw onion in your chicken salad, you could certainly throw a little into the mix, or if you love grapes in yours, stir a few chopped grapes in after processing the mixture. Make it your own!

Copycat Chick Fil A Chicken Sandwiches

Ingredients
2 cups chopped cooked chicken cooled
1/3 cup chopped celery
1/4 - 1/3 cup sweet pickle relish
2/3 cup mayonnaise
2 hard boiled eggs chopped
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
whole wheat bread
green leaf lettuce

Directions

  1. Make sure chicken is chopped relatively small before adding to the food processor, so you don't have to over process the mixture (or process the chicken a few times on pulse, before adding remaining ingredients). Combine everything in a food processor and process on low or pulse, just until mixture is well combined.
  2. Taste test, adjust seasonings if desired.
  3. Toast bread, assemble sandwich by filling toasted bread with a heaping scoop of chicken salad and crisp lettuce leafs.
  4. Slice in half, and enjoy!
