Summer Fruit Trifle

Look at this gorgeous summery dessert (or breakfast?!) You can easily mix and match your yogurt flavors, and fresh fruit in this light and tasty treat. The red, white, and blue combination is absolutely perfect for any upcoming July 4th celebrations!

I think these also work beautifully in individual serving sized bowls / glasses. Pretty wine glasses make for such lovely personal desserts! I still think you can totally call these breakfast parfaits too... yogurt and fruit, right?!

Summer Fruit Trifle

Ingredients
1 (10 inch) prepared angel food cake, cut into 1 inch cubes
1 (32 fluid ounce) container vanilla yogurt
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
2 cups fresh blueberries, rinsed

Directions

  1. In a trifle bowl, or large glass bowl, arrange 1/3 of the diced angel food cake, evenly arrange 1/3 of the yogurt over the cake, and sprinkle 1/3 of the fruit over the yogurt. Repeat layers, arranging the fruit across the top as desired.
  2. Serve immediately. You can refrigerate until ready to serve, but the angel food cake will get soggy as it sits so try to prepare close to serving.
