Instant Pot Cheesy Ground Beef and Rice
What are your favorite go-to Instant Pot recipes? I am definitely on the hunt for more as I learn how to get the most out of this new kitchen gadget!
The tomato flavor is subtle, it just lends a little extra flavor to the dish; a can of diced tomatoes would probably be a nice addition, and some onion and mushrooms sauteed along with the ground beef! Lots of options to change this one up to make it your own. See the original recipe linked below for instructions on cooking this with white rice.
Instant Pot Cheesy Ground Beef and Rice adapted from This Is Not Diet Food
Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
14-oz can beef broth
2 cups milk
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp pepper
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
2 cups brown rice
10.75 oz condensed tomato soup
14-oz can green beans, drained
1 - 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
- Set pot to saute, add about 1 TBS of butter. Once melted add the ground beef and stir occasionally until browned.
- Add in the beef broth, milk, salt, pepper, onion and garlic powders, brown rice, and tomato soup. Set steam valve to sealing and instant pot to high pressure cook and set for 22 minutes.
- Allow the pot to naturally release until it reads LO:10; then flip the valve to venting (if it hisses / spits liquid, set back to sealing and try again in a couple minutes).
- Stir in the cheese and green beans, until cheese is melted. Serve and enjoy!
