Groupon: Atlanta Steeplechase, Saturday April 16th!

I am so excited! Kenneth and I decided we're going to take Kent to the Steeplechase on the 16th and I can't wait! It's a whole day event and I think it's going to be a blast - it looks to be about an hour drive from us which in and around this area seems to be the minimum commute for anything!

The Groupon link is here for anyone else in the area who might be interested in checking it out!

Horse racing was one of the few successful attempts at animal spectator sports after the failure of rabbit shows, cat-herding dogs, and camel rodeos. Share a success story with today's Groupon to the 46th Atlanta Steeplechase at Kingston Downs on Saturday, April 16. Choose between the following options (children 12 and under receive free admission):

For $15, you get one general-admission ticket including parking (a $30 value, plus $8.25 in Ticketmaster fees, for a total value of up to $38.25).

For $135, you get the Subscriber Backstretch package, which includes six backstretch tickets and a reserved parking pass for tailgating (a $270 value).

The Atlanta Steeplechase brings equine entertainment to more than 30,000 guests each year with its hoof-happy races at Kingston Downs. Enjoy a great view from virtually any seat as jockeys race their steeds around the track in search of the finish sign and some edible flowers. Not just a horse race, the Atlanta Steeplechase entertains guests with a full schedule of family-friendly events, including dogs chasing flying discs, pony and hay rides, sky-diving demonstrations, and whinnying workshops. A general-admission ticket includes parking and grants access to the infield, where mustang mavens tote picnic accouterments for trackside comfort. The Subscriber Backstretch package includes reserved parking along with admission for six—enough for Brady-esque broods.

Kingston Downs opens its hallowed halls at 9 a.m.—rain or shine—and the course closes at 6:30 p.m. The first race begins at 1:30 p.m., with the last race ending at around 5 p.m. No vehicles are allowed into the Steeplechase grounds after 2 p.m. Despite the shoes, horse hooves are extremely sensitive, so guests are requested not to bring any glass to the track.
I can't wait!! We haven't planned an outing like this for awhile so I'm excited, plus I get to go see some horses and see some dogs doing a flying disc competition and much more! I think it will be fun for all of us. :)
