Greek Yogurt Pizza Dough

I've wanted to give the "yogurt pizza dough" recipe a try for awhile now! I was gifted a carton of full fat greek yogurt and some ham, and immediately decided a hawaiian pizza was called for!

I ended up quadrupling the recipe below for a large baking sheet sized pizza - and my dough was relatively "thick" and definitely biscuit like. I really liked this one! It comes together so easily and makes for a doable work night dinner.

The texture is definitely nothing like a traditional yeasted pizza dough, but that wasn't the goal for this one. I love the speed of this dough, and the versatility. Season with different herbs / spices to compliment your toppings. And you can top it any way you'd like! I love that the dough has a little bit of a protein boost too - I'm always looking for easy ways to get a little extra in!

Greek Yogurt Pizza Dough

Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour, plus 1-2 TBS for dusting work surface
½ cup Greek yogurt (make sure it is Greek yogurt, not Greek Style yogurt, which is not as thick and has more water) - more if needed
½ tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp extra virgin olive oil
1 TBS minced garlic (other seasonings if desired such as garlic powder, onion powder, crushed red chili pepper flakes, dried parsley, dried basil, oregano, etc.)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix with a dough hook or spatula until mostly combined. Turn out onto lighly floured surface and knead gently until dough comes together. If it's too dry, add a little more yogurt (or water if preferred), and if too sticky / tacky, add a little more flour. It should not be a "wet" dough.
  3. Roll dough out as thin as you'd like (the thicker it's rolled the more "biscuit" like it will be, the thinner you roll it the crispier it will be).
  4. Top and bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown!
