Oops! Missed the 20 week post!! (20w6d today)

It's been a hectic but good week! :) I had Friday the 2nd off as a vacation day. Kent and I had dentist appointments in the morning and we got some work done around the house that afternoon. The next morning we were busy packing up to leave for Ken & Donna's (Kenneth's parent's) and left the house around 10:30 am. We grabbed lunch at Shane's Rib Shack on the way to their place and got there I think around 1:00. We had a nice afternoon, spent some time at the pool (yay for some SUN!!) and that evening we went and saw fireworks! They were beautiful and baby "S" was really moving and grooving in my belly! It was probably the most I'd seen her moving from the outside up to that point. Last night I got some GREAT movement from her too! It is SO cool to be able to see her movements now, I am always so fascinated watching her make my belly move and wiggle! :)

We all enjoyed breakfast and lunch together on Sunday and then we headed out around 1:30 to make the long drive home. It was a short visit, but it was a lot of fun! We played games and Kent discovered Rumikub and Chinese Checkers. So on Monday we ran some errands and picked up both games at Target - they're great for us since 2 or 3 people can play! :)

I jumped back on my babyfit meal plan once we got home and am doing well again. I'm up a total of about 14 pounds now and will be 21 weeks tomorrow. I am ok with that, and most importantly having the meal plan to follow I feel very good about what I'm taking in and knowing baby "S" is getting exactly what she needs to grow healthy and strong! :)

I don't think we have any plans for this weekend, and then next week is our ultrasound and doctor appointment!! Yay!! I'm hoping maybe my IM will get to see and/or feel some of baby's movements!! I'll have to try to record them for her too.

So here is the 20 week Baby Center info (better late than never!)

How your baby's growing:

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)

He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

  1. Belly movements are always the best. It's just amazing when you're like, "HEY! You're really in there!" :)
