Nuchal Transluceny U/S Went Great

The ultrasound was fantastic! The machines they use there are awesome, and the baby looked just perfect! Munchkin was moving all over the place, lots of kicking and arms flailing, opening and closing their mouth, reaching up and grabbing toes, even a somersault! It was really cool. I was 14w1d yesterday, and the baby measured exactly 14 weeks. The nuchal measurements were all normal, and we get blood results back in about a week.

I got an almost 20 minute video to send to my IPs, and lots of great pictures. I know they will love them. I wish they could have been there!

We're scheduled for our 20 week ultrasound on March 8th, and then I will go again a month later for a fetal echo (since my IM was 36 and is considered Advanced Maternal Age), and they want me to come monthly after that for fetal growth checks since I am a bypass patient. They had one bad experience with a bypass mom experiencing IUGR and are being cautious to make sure their other bypass patients are growing healthy babies. I don't mind the extra sneak peeks! :)

Nuchal Translucency Today

My test has been bumped to today at 2pm, I'll leave work at 12:30. I found out, too late, that the test HAS to be performed by 13w6d gestation; according to our IVF transfer date I am 14w1d today... my OB's coordinator seemed to think it had to be done AFTER 14 weeks, as that is when she scheduled the appt for and that is what she told me. I am REALLY bummed already because I'm almost positive the baby will be too far along, by a couple days, for them to do the test. They will still do the ultrasound and it will be awesome to see the munchkin, but I know T&I were really looking forward to the peace of mind a clean test would have given them. I am PRAYING that maybe the baby is a day or two behind, enough for them to go ahead and do the measurement... we will see this afternoon.

If I can't get this done, I will go have the AFP Tetra test done at least.

I will update this afternoon or tomorrow after the appointment with how everything goes!

14 Weeks Today!

I have had an icky cold for a full week now, but other than that I'm really feeling good! The morning sickness has definitely subsided, and the only nausea I've had lately seems to be from this cold I have. I am hungry frequently, the fatigue isn't too bad lately, and I haven't had any crazy aversions or cravings that I can think of.

I had an OB appointment on the 15th of January and got to hear the bean's heartbeat on doppler for the first time - that was incredibly cool! I'm thinking of renting a doppler just so I can record the sound for T&I. I had labs done on the 17th, and got the results yesterday. Estrogen is over 3,000 and my progesterone was 48. I'm allowed to stop all shots now, but am still on 2 suppositories daily and 1 estrace pill daily. I'm SO thrilled to be done sticking myself in the butt! :) Most of the lumps have faded, but now hopefully the remaning few will fade as well.

I have a nuchal translucency ultrasound on Friday which I'm very excited and a little nervous about. I am very much looking forward to seeing the bean moving around, but can't help but be a tiny bit nervous that something won't look right. I will be allowed to take a video tape so I can send that to T&I which they will love, I know! The munchkin will be so much more developed since the last time we peeked in at 8 weeks.

I read in my pregnancy book that the baby will be the size of a fist this week. I can't believe how much goes on during a pregnancy - in just 11 short weeks the baby has grown from the size of the head of a pin to the size of a fist! Incredible!

I just wanted to check in before Friday's appointment, and will update after as well. Send me lots of healthy bean vibes! :)

12 Week Check In!

I had labwork done on the 9th and Cooper got the results REALLY fast (the next day!) My progesterone was at 46.8 and my estradiol was 2,047. (This was going on 3 days of no PIO, just suppositories for progesterone supplements). Becky wasn't thrilled with the number, and wants me to stay on meds another week and have labs again on the 17th (my 13 week mark)! Hopefully at that time all will be stabilized and look good enough for them to let me come off the meds. I'm down to PIO every 4 days and have reduced my estradiol valerate to .15cc but that's still every 3 days. The suppositories and estrace tablet are still daily.

I'm feeling really tired today. I noticed it yesterday, I feel cranky, out of it, not quite myself. I really need an actual "day OFF". I need to just be home, alone, and be allowed to rest uninterrupted. I haven't been taking it as easy in the afternoons when I get home as I think I need to be right now. Kenneth's new school schedule has him leaving at 7:15pm two nights a week for class, and instead of resting or going to bed, I've been using that time to get caught up on cleaning. It needs to be done, but I think I need to just let it go for right now. My body is very unhappy with me! I am seriously considering going home early to rest today, I just feel so icky.

My stomach is growing and growing, its rounding out some, but still not obvious to most everyone unless they know to look. I spend lots of time in front of the mirror willing it to pop out already! :) It's getting firmer too, and my belly button has been pretty sore off and on lately, so I know things are moving around and my uterus is moving on up. Can't wait to feel this little bean moving around! :)

I have my next OB appointment on Monday and I'm REALLY, REALLY looking forward to hearing the heartbeat, I just want confirmation that everything really is fine and we've made it past the first 12 weeks and are almost into the 2nd tri. I think part of me will still be nervous into my 14-15th week because of what happened to my friend from SMO recently... its like there is no "safe" zone. There's just so many unknowns!

I still haven't gained any weight. I was SHOCKED to see the number the same on the scale this morning. I lost 6 lbs at the beginning and haven't gained a lb back (yet, knock on wood). I am eating PLENTY. I feel like I do nothing but graze all day long. My stomach is more settled that it was a couple weeks ago, but still giving me plenty of trouble, so I do have to take it nice and slow!

Ok, this is getting long - I'll wrap it up for now! :)

Here's my 11 week belly picture:
