Labs Finally Back!!

Well, my OB's office FINALLY sent off some of the results from my past 3 blood draws and my first ultrasound to Cooper! Becky called me back and relayed the news, she has been so cool about everything!

I didn't write down the exact numbers, but I believe my Dec. 26th blood results were:

Estradiol - over 2,000
Progesterone - ~ 79

She said the important thing is that everything is going really well, so the rest doesn't matter so much. She made me feel better about how hard its been to get results sent out to them!

The WONDERFUL news is I get to reduce my PIO to every other day!! The rest of my meds stay the same, but that's so many less shots, I am SO thrilled!! :) I don't have to do labs again until December 9th, so I get a full week with no doctor appointments. Too cool!!

10 weeks preggo today! :)

Wow, time is already flying by! Christmas came and went and here it is almost 2007; and what a year it will be!

I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks 5 days on the 18th of December and there was a little bean with a heartrate of 160 floating around in there! The OB saw little armbuds forming and everything looked great. The bean measured 2 days behind, but no one seemed worried about that. I had gone in for my "First OB" appt and met with the midwife and had a general physical. The midwife tried to listen for the baby's heartbeat with the doppler but couldn't quite get it. That made me nervous (I was having flash backs to the last time I went in and they couldn't find a heart beat). So, to reassure us both, she took me back and tried to do an on-the-tummy ultrasound to see if she could pick up the heart beat that way. All we could see was the sac. I got really nervous then! So, asked my OB to pop in for a quick internal u/s to see, and everything was just fine!

I am feeling very pregnant, lots of nausea still. I had a couple days where it seemed to be decreasing (and that made me nervous) followed by now 3 days of pretty regular heavy queasiness and nausea! So, I'm pretty sure all is well with this baby bean! I won't see the OB again until January 15th, but I have weekly lab appointments between now and then. There's been some hold ups and my OB office has yet to get results from the past two weeks to Cooper, so I haven't heard from them in awhile! I spoke to a nurse yesterday who seemed very helpful and I am praying Cooper gets results today so I can get some continued instructions. I'm hopeful that I might be allowed to start decreasing some of my meds. I'm still on 1cc pio daily, 1 estrace pill daily, 2 progesterone suppositories daily and .35cc delestrogen every 3 days.

I have been really tired lately, well I guess I've been tired for over a month now! :) Kenneth keeps asking if I wore mascara and calling me raccoon eyes! I have dark circles under my eyes. The thing is I'm sleeping GREAT! I sleep like a rock, other than occassionally waking up for bathroom trips (I think I practically sleep walk through those)!

I've been eating a piece of fruit every night before going to sleep to help ward off any painful hunger cramps, it seems to be working well! I really love the clementines and have gone through 1 1/2 crates so far (the small crates). I eat about 2 every day. Fruit seems to have replaced junk food sweets for me, I haven't had the desire to eat hardly any candy or other sweets lately, even over Christmas I only had a couple cookies and 1 piece of cake.

Kenneth pulled down my tub of maternity clothes last night and I started going through them to see what fits now, whats for later, what is too out of style, all that good stuff. I am definitely in maternity pants full time now, my regular pants make my stomach sore.

I guess that is enough of an update for the moment!

8 weeks and counting!

Wow, past the 8 week mark; still feeling pretty nauseated and I wake up starving and in need of the bathroom so I'm pretty sure all is well!!

I think this is going to be a big baby, my stomach is creeping outward definitely, slowly, but its sure there! And I've now lost 5lbs since our transfer, so I know I'm not just gaining a bunch of weight! (I look like it though!) I will be so thrilled when this trimester is over - a little less than 6 weeks I believe. I had labs done on Tuesday the 12th and should hopefully hear back on the results today. I think they're only checking my progesterone and estradial now that they've seen an heartbeat.

I cannot wait for the shots to end; my hips are getting really numb and I worry about long term damage. I hope there won't be any, and I guess its not the end of the world if there is, but still!

Yesterday was my son's class Christmas party that I helped out with. It was a lot of fun, what a great little classroom! Lots of parents attended as well which was neat. His teacher is so terrific.

When he came home from school we did a post office run and mailed out lots of presents, and then did more Christmas shopping for the remaining family memebers who live in Washington; I intend to wrap those up tonight and mail them on Saturday.

Donna (my MIL) and I are going curtain fabric shopping on Saturday as well; I'm so excited! We've been in our home going on 3 years and still don't have curtains in the living room. I can't WAIT until that's done, it will look great, and really help with the glare we get on the TV!

I have a little bit of a cold still, but am much better than I was earlier this week. T&I asked me if I could to stay home on Tuesday and I really, really appreciate that because I think it is a big reason I'm on my way to recovery now. I laid in bed all day Tuesday I was so tired and weak feeling. It seems everyone is getting sick at work; so many germs floating around!

Well, I'll wrap this up for now! My next appt is this coming Monday; LOTS more lab work! Oh what fun! :)

The Ultrasound!

I am 7 weeks even today... my ultrasound was scheduled for 2pm. I tried my best to stay super busy at work to keep my mind off things, but it was hard! 12:30 just didn't arrive nearly soon enough!

I headed out of there, and traffic was nice and light, made it to my appt with a few minutes to spare (had to bring my son along as they had early dismissal today), and was called back pretty quickly. One of the few times I've been there when the waiting room wasn't packed!

So, she took me back, and I closeted Kent in the section that you can pull the curtain across and changed, she came in and started the fun with Mr. Weenie Wand and proceeded to take pictures and make clicking noises on the machine and didn't say a WORD to me... after about 45 seconds of that, I started straining my head towards the screen (she had it at my feet, no way I could see), and she then said "I'll move it where you can see in a moment". I breathed a sigh of relief, I knew she wouldn't show me anything if there was something wrong. So, then I waited to hear measurements. They were not forthcoming! I had to pry it out of her at the end. Baby is measuring exactly 7w0d right on track! The heartrate was 158 bpm. All looking good!!

I called "I" as soon as I walked out the door and passed on the news, she wanted to see the pics right away, but I don't have a working scanner at home, so I'll have to scan them at work tomorrow. I will mail them the video of the u/s.

All is going well, I am SO excited for them, just thrilled that everything looks so good and strong right now. I cannot wait to get past these next 5 weeks and into the 2nd tri; I am breating a little easier tonight, but I'll be even that much more relieved when we pass 12 weeks.

My next appt right now is scheduled for the 12th for more labs, and the 18th for my "1st OB" (more labs!)

Results from 11/27 Appt and Excited for Tomorrow!

I never came back and updated when I finally heard back from my OB with my 11/27 labwork results!

Progesterone: 57.5
Estradiol: 1325
Beta hcG: 7,037

Everything is still looking good! The doubling rate slowed to about 2.8 days if I remember when I looked it up; still good but I am now 99.9% certain we have 1 little baby and not 2. Part of me wonders if perhaps we started with 2, but only 1 continued to grow. I remember 2 very distinct twinging/cramping episodes on opposite sides of my uterus 3 and 4 days post transfer...

My IPs are SO excited; IM and I talked for awhile yesterday and it was good to catch up with her! She said some of the sweetest things about wanting me to be involved and letting me know her baby will always know about me, and what an amazing thing she feels I am doing. They feel so blessed by me, and I feel so incredibly blessed by them... I am beyond excited for them!

I think IM and I will both feel tons better after we see a heartbeat tomorrow; both of us are excited, but still feeling a little reserved. I have that worry in the back of my mind that it will be like the very last ultrasound I had when I learned my baby had passed at 8 weeks. I want SO badly for all to go well for T&I, and most of me really believes it will! I think part of me just can't help be a little nervous.

Anyhow, I also go today for more bloodwork, this afternoon. But won't get results probably until Friday or Monday next week; the ultrasound is more important (at least to me) at this point!! :) Can't wait to update tomorrow!!
